28 Weeks - 3rd Trimester!

OMG, I'm already in my third trimester, this can't be!

Mia is 2.5 pounds and 16 inches long. I can definitely tell she's getting bigger especially when she moves around! She gets the hiccups a lot! At my last 2 appointments, when my doctor puts the Doppler on her, she has had the hiccups.

All my non-maternity shirts are either too tight around my belly or too short to cover my belly :-(
I had to go get some maternity sweaters to make it through these last few weeks. I've had nasal congestion for the last 3 weeks (apparently its pretty normal). It is making me miserable! I've been waking up for several hours at night because i cant breathe. I guess God is just preparing me for little sleep when Mia gets here :-/. It's all getting very real! I had to answer questions at my last doctors appointment about epidural (YES PLEASE!) and breast feeding or formula feeding, etc. He also said we're on the downhill swing, not much longer, ahhhh! Im so excited to be able to hold this sweet girl, but also nervous about what is all about to happen!

Mia's room is really starting to come together. Her room is painted, a huge thanks to Todd, his dad, and brother! The crib and bookcase are put together. Her clothes are washed and hung up. Now, I'm waiting on the chair, bedding, and curtains to come in. Also, I have to paint the dresser for her room. I'll give you a sneak peek into her room :-)

27 Weeks!

Last week of the second trimester!
Baby is 15 inches long and weighs a little over 2 pounds!!
I've started getting asked a lot this week when my due date is, guess I'm getting a lot bigger!
Also, I got asked if I was sure I wasn't having twins.... Don't ever ask a pregnant lady that!!!

I did my sugar test this week. It really wasn't as bad as everybody makes it out to be! The drink was disgusting, but it wasn't unbearable. I hope I passed, they haven't called me yet, so I'm hoping that's a good sign!

We picked out a paint color and have started painting! Yahoo!! It's a work in progress, but its started and that makes my type A personality very happy!

26 Weeks!

Only 14 weeks left! I don't know whether to freak out or get excited! I'm leaning a little more to freaking out!
Baby Weighs 1 2/3 pounds and is 14 inches long (the length of a burp cloth).

This weekend is going to be Crazy!!! My sister in law is getting married, we have 2 people staying at our house, and my brother is moving out! If I'm still alive after this weekend, I'll be surprised! Im so ready to start working on Mia's nursery next week, it will have me a little less freaked out!

Good news, Prevacid seems to be helping, I just hope it continues to help!
I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I get to hear sweet Mia's heartbeat again!

25 Weeks!

Baby is 13 1/2 inches long and weighs 1 1/2 pounds! A website says she is growing more hair and you should be able to see it now on an ultrasound. I'm quite sure she will come out completely bald! I had no hair until I was around 3 and Molly is just now getting hair. I might pass out if this child comes out with any hair, haha!
I had a checkup last Thursday and baby was doing great! Her heart rate was 154. I've been having some pain in my upper right abdomen after I eat, so we discussed that. He said I was pointing right to my gallbladder :-(. He also said it could be that Mia was just curled up over there or kicking me since I'm shorter. He put me on Prevacid and told me if it gets worse, I'll have a scan of my gallbladder and talk to a surgeon, although they don't want to do anything before I have her. It hasn't gotten any worse and the Prevacid has seemed to help some, so for that I'm very thankful!
Mia is a feisty little thing! She is constantly kicking! Todd had his hand on my belly and she kicked his hand so hard, she moved his hand. You can see her kicking my belly now. I feel like I'm going to freak somebody out soon if I sit in front of them!
I start my 2 week visits now! So crazy, I feel like its definitely getting closer and more real now!
It's definitely getting harder to bend down and put on shoes or squeeze in between small spaces! I'm so ready to hold this little girl and just admire her!

24 Weeks

Mia is about 8 1/2 inches long and weighs about a pound and a half!
She is growing and so am I! She is still a wiggle worm! I did have to find a maternity dress for my sister-in-laws wedding. Finding a maternity dress for a night time wedding proved to be a lot more difficult than I expected, but I found one, thank goodness!
I can't believe this baby will be here so soon! I can't wait to start getting her room ready and organized!

23 weeks & Happy Thanksgiving!

Warning: very long, sappy post :-)

One day I'm actually going to get caught up on my weeks. I'm actually 24 weeks today!
At 23 weeks, baby is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound! That's crazy to me, that this baby is now over a pound! Mia is still very active and has decided to practice her karate and gymnastics in the middle of the night :-/. I'm really very thankful she is so active, maybe not as thankful at 3 in the morning :-). Todd finally got to feel her kick this week! I feel like I have swallowed a whole turkey! I guess it's only fitting for thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! I have so much to be thankful for this year! Sometimes, I get so caught up in this world that I forget how blessed I am! I have a house and food and a loving family, which is more than enough to be thankful for!

First and most important, I'm thankful to God- salvation, freedom, grace, mercy, and the list goes on and on! I'm so grateful that he blessed us with a little baby and answered our prayers!

I'm thankful for my husband, he is such a blessing in my life! He is always so willing to help me out whenever needed and provides for our family! He Always puts me before himself and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it! Im grateful for the Love he has for the Lord and how he uses his talents to serve Him! He is one of the nicest, smartest, most loving people I know and I'm so thankful that I get to share the rest of my life with him! I have no doubt in my mind that he is going to be the best dad!! Mia is going to have him wrapped around her little finger and I can't wait to see him be a wonderful father to our daughter!

I'm thankful to my parents!!! They are a wonderful example of what marriage should be, especially in this day and age when it's so easy to just throw it away! Don't get me wrong, they have had their fair share of arguments and fights, but its how they handled those situations! I never doubted that they loved each other and they showed that! They always put each other before themselves! I'm grateful for how they raised us! We were always raised in church and to love The Lord! I'm also thankful for growing up on a farm! There are so many experiences and life lessons that I feel like a lot of people missed out on! From playing in cotton trailers, riding 4-wheelers, shelling peas and butter beans, to rolling in the mud! We had a great childhood! My dad is always helping others out- such a great example of what God would have us to do! I remember as a child going down the road and if someone was stopped on the side of the road, we always pulled over for my dad to help! As a kid, we thought it was miserable, ha! My mom was always helping out at the church decorating or teaching or cooking! Now, they are great grandparents! I only hope I can be half the parents that they are!

I'm thankful for my sister and brother! My sister is truly my best friend! I know we probably didn't act like we liked each other when we were children, but I love her so much and would do anything for her, she is my baby sister after all! She has grown up to be such a great person! She's a wonderful wife and an awesome mother! Doc & Molly are truly blessed! Doc, my brother in law, is such a good husband & father. He works so hard to provide for his family! Molly, I love her so much! She has been such a blessing in our lives, I can't imagine life without her! My brother and I have such a special relationship, I think there truly is a twin connection! He always lets me boss him around and just does what I tell him to do, ha. I'm grateful that we got to grow up so close together and I knew he was always there when I needed him, and still is. He takes after my dad in being someone who would do anything he could to help someone else out!

I'm thankful for my in-laws for accepting me into the family as if I had always been a part of it! To Todd's dad and mom for raising this amazing man I get to call my husband! To my brother in law and sister in laws for accepting me for who I am and allowing me to be a part of their lives!

I'm thankful for my friends and for what they mean to me and Todd! Thanks for sticking with us through the good and bad times! We are so grateful to have several close friendships with other couples going through this same journey in life with us! I'm also grateful for our church family and the relationships we created there. Also, for mentoring us and leading us on our spiritual walk!

All in all, I'm just thankful and I don't show it enough! I'm thankful to all 2 of you who actually just read this all, haha!

22 Weeks

The weeks just keep flying by!
Mia is almost 1 pound and is 11 inches long!

I'm still feeling really good and still in regular clothes, thank goodness for stretchy skinny jeans :-). I have 1 pair of maternity jeans that I wear with tennis shoes because my other jeans kept sliding below my belly and dragging the ground :-(.

We registered at target yesterday which was a lot more fun for me than it was for Todd :-). I let him have the gun though! It was so crazy to think that we were putting all this stuff on our registry for OUR little girl! I'm so thankful I've had a lot of experience with kids and pretty much know what I want and need!

21 Weeks

Baby Mia is growing!
She weighs 14oz. So crazy to think she's almost a pound!
She is a wiggle worm! She is constantly moving! Even when I wake up in the middle of the night, she's moving around, I hope this is just temporary and she'll sleep at night when she gets here :-/

I only have 2 more monthly appointments before I start 2 week appointments-CRAZY. The 2nd half of this pregnancy is flying by!!

We got Mia her first monogrammed item- the diaper bag. It makes it so real to see her initials on something!

Todd decided he wanted to take a 21 week picture too. He is going to kill me when he finds out that I posted his picture, but its just too cute and funny not to :-).

She has a name!!

Mia Elaine Whitlock

We loved the name Mia and Elaine was Todd's Mom's middle name- so it holds a very special meaning!

The ultrasound went great! We were so excited to see our little girl and how much she's grown. She's a little stubborn (I can't imagine where she gets that from :-). She had her head buried the entire time except for about 5 seconds and stood on her head the entire time. Maybe she's going to be the next Gabby Douglas :-). She also played with her ear a lot, I'm definitely going to have to invest in mittens! She was kicking and squirming and moving her hands the entire time. She weighed 14oz and her heart rate was 144. We are so in love with our little Mia!

20 Weeks

I cannot believe this pregnancy has already reached the halfway point! I had a little freak out moment when I realized we only have 20 weeks until this little girl will be here :-)

Baby is the length of a banana and weighs around 10 1/2 ounces.

19 Weeks

Baby is the size of a mango and weighs 8 1/2 ounces.

Names and bedding have been a lot harder than I expected, but we're getting there.

I can't wait for Thursday when we get to see this sweet baby and find out 100% the gender! I can't wait to see what she looks like!

18 weeks

I guess I should update about week 18 since I'm in my 19th week. The picture from the gender reveal will have to do for the 18th week!

It was a long week! Cosmo (our dog) threw up on Monday, Molly threw up on Tuesday and was running a fever, Todd started throwing up on Wednesday. Needless to say, I wanted to go somewhere far far away!
I just walked around with Lysol all week and our washer and dryer worked over time! Then Todd had to play music for 80's night at the Dixie Friday night so we went to that. Saturday morning, we did the gender reveal party, then Saturday night, we headed to Shreveport for Katie & Allin's wedding shower. Sunday after church I crashed, I think I slept for a solid 4 hours that afternoon!

I had my doctors appt on Thursday morning to find out the gender and poor Todd couldn't even get out of bed, so I got my doctor to put the gender in an envelope so we could find out together! It took him a whole to get a good picture because the baby was so active! The nurse said the baby was literally jumping around, oh geez, we have our hands full already! As the doctor was walking out, he said he was 90% sure, but not to take off any tags! I couldn't wait to get home! We opened the envelope and pulled out the ultrasound picture with the words at the bottom that said probably GIRL! I love that he wrote it in pink :-) We both just looked at each other and smiled! Todd said well, I guess we need to start saving for a wedding and get a gun :-). This little girl is going to have us wrapped around her little finger!

Baby's heart rate was 158 and baby was the size of a sweet potato at 18 weeks.

It's a........

Girl!
We are so excited about having a daughter and cannot wait to meet her!

We did a gender reveal party Saturday morning and it was so much fun! We didn't tell anyone until that day and it was so fun to see everybody try to guess the gender and their faces. Most people guessed a boy. I just ordered baby girl some shoes and socks, so fun shopping for a girl!

17 Weeks!

Baby is the size of my palm and weighs about 5 ounces.

I started feeling the baby move on Friday. It felt like thumps if that makes any sense. I'm pretty sure he/she is practicing their acrobatics in there.

We can't wait for Thursday to hopefully find out what we're having! Then we have to keep it a secret until our gender reveal on Saturday.

I'm interested to find out how much weight I've gained considering last appt I was down a total of 12lbs since the beginning (oh the joys of morning sickness). I feel like this week my belly has really started to pop out!

I hope to update Saturday with the gender :-)

Our little miracle!

Introducing Baby Whitlock

We are so excited and thankful that god has blessed us with this precious miracle! Baby Whitlock is due March 14th and we hope to find out the gender next Thursday!
I want to be honest on this blog and share so that i can be reminded of how good our God is! God is continuing to remind me to have faith in him and his timing. We were starting to go through some fertility testing and the results were not what we had hoped for. We were waiting on another test to confirm some results. I was suppose to have the test in June, but they were not able to that month, so we were to wait until July. Beginning of July, we went to new York for our anniversary and decided to take a pregnancy test totally thinking it would be negative (o ye of little faith, huh?). To both our surprise, it (and the 5 other tests we took, ha) were positive! We were overwhelmed, shocked, ecstatic, and scared all at the same time! We are so so so grateful for this blessing!!! We couldn't wait to tell our families!

This is how we told our immediate family. They were so excited and shocked too, I wish I would have caught their expressions on camera, it was truly priceless!
